Melvin worked at Capital Helicopters for 9 years before his natural ambition and drive saw him purchase the company in the spring of 2020. He is an accomplished pilot and has spent virtually all of his career flying and working in Yukon's mountainous terrain. Melvin is focused on building a strong local company that places an emphasis on customer service and safety.
When you call Capital Helicopters, Laura will generally be the friendly voice on the other end of the line. With a working background in mineral exploration and logistics, she is well-placed to answer any questions you may have with respect to planning your next flight. Her happy dogs are always present in the office to greet our clients.
Erik brings vast amounts of knowledge with 19 years of flight experience, half of which took place in the Arctic. Erik also holds his AME license and brings over 14 years of engineering experience on several aircraft types, you can be sure you are in good hands on your next flight with Erik. In his spare time Erik enjoys travelling, camping and canoeing.
Kevin joined the Capital team in the fall of 2021. He quickly found his footing here at Capital and is at the helm of our AMO. Kevin was raised in an aviation family with helicopters never too far away, bringing us generations of aviation experience with a youthful passion for excellence. He has an endless drive for recreational sports in the mountains with his german shepherd, Loki, always at his side.
With 15 years of flight experience and a love for the great outdoors, Scott has been an exceptional part of the Capital team for the past 8 years. In his free time, Scott enjoys hunting, snowmobiling and adventuring with his wife and two kids.
With several years of dynamic aviation experience, Bryan has been an asset to the Capital team. When he is isn't flying, you can find him adding to the seamlessness of our operations, and is Capital's tour specialist, regularly going above and beyond to ensure that visitors leave having experienced the flight of a lifetime.
Kim has spent the past 14 years flying in The Yukon, Quebec and on The West Coast. Kim has a vast network of aviation experience from mining support and fire fighting, to being a specialized instructor in mountain flying and other advanced techniques with language fluency in French, English and Spanish. You can also find Kim behind a camera, capturing amazing scenes and moments.
Jeremiah has been in the northern mountains his entire life. You will be hard pressed to find someone more skillful and experienced in northern lifestyle then our man Jeremiah. Jeremiah loves the outdoors and wont easily pass up an opportunity to explore the Yukon. Jeremiah is another one of our pilot/engineers who has mountains of aviation experience.
Adam has been flying in the Yukon for the past 6 years on various types of aircraft and accompanies his flying talents with a knack for mechanics. If he isn't flying or wrenching, you'll find him enjoying the outdoors to its full potential or reading a novel of historical accounts.
Damon Joined Capital Helicopters in 2023 and quickly proved himself a very well-rounded aviator, whether he moves a drill in the 407 or is doing an inspection one of our A-Stars, Damon does it all. Winter or summer you can find Damon on a mountaintop while snowmobiling, snowboarding or mountain biking. Outside of the aviation and thrill-seeking Damon is proud husband and father.
Rob is a seasoned helicopter pilot with over two decades of flight experience in North America, the Caribbean, Asia, and Europe. He now brings his extensive expertise as a pilot specializing in geophysical exploration within the mining industry to the Yukon Territory. When he’s not flying you can find Rob immersed in new experiences with his wife and two kids.
Owen joined the Capital team in the Winter of 2023. He moved here from the interior of BC and has become a proud Yukoner. Owen loves exploring with his dog Tucker, they often find themselves discovering new places during their adventures. Owen has a growing passion for Helicopters and his career. If ever the saying "He's seen it all" is ever true, then Mark’s your guy. Mark has been fixing Helicopters here in the Yukon for, let’s just say a few years...Mark is truly our anchor over here in the maintenance department. Mark enjoys time on the road whether its in his model A truck or a motorcycle. Regardless of the situation, we can always count on our man Mark.
Born and raised in Vancouver/Kelowna Retired federal employee in 2012 Came here from Kelowna 2017 on an adventure to YDA Landed in aviation (YDA) not having any experience and here I am today!
