Our Team

Melvin Lagersson

Melvin worked at Capital Helicopters for 9 years before his natural ambition and drive saw him purchase the company in the spring of 2020. He is an accomplished pilot and has spent virtually all of his career flying and working in Yukon's mountainous terrain. Melvin is focused on building a strong local company that places an emphasis on customer service and safety.

Delmar Washington

One of Yukon's most accomplished pilots, Delmar was the longtime sole owner of Capital Helicopters prior to selling the company to Melvin Lagersson in the spring of 2020. To many longstanding clients, Delmar was the heart and soul of the company for many years and is still flying and working as part of the Capital team. Delmar was born and raised in Yukon and is a member of Champagne Aishihik First Nation.

Malcolm Turnbull

Malcolm began his career with Capital Helicopters in 2017, and quickly proved himself to be indispensable throughout the course of day-to-day company operations. Malcolm is skilled at navigating the flight logistics necessitated by Yukon's demanding terrain, and is Capital's tour specialist, regularly going above and beyond to ensure that visitors leave having experienced the flight of a lifetime.

Laura Vinnedge

When you call Capital Helicopters, Laura will generally be the friendly voice on the other end of the line. With a working background in mineral exploration and logistics, she is well-placed to answer any questions you may have with respect to planning your next flight. Her happy dogs are always present in the office to greet our clients.

Matthew McCulloch

A skilled local pilot and aircraft maintenance engineer, Matt brings a lifetime of experience in Yukon to the Capital team. He ensures that every client receives friendly, professional assistance throughout the course of their project, program or day trip. In his spare time, Matt enjoys exploring the beautiful northern backcountry with his family.

Jotham Apaloo
Ground Crew

Jotham joined the Capital Helicopters team in 2020, where his calm demeanor and analytical approach to any challenge helps get projects off to a smooth start. Jotham's diversified working background includes experience in environmental science, risk analysis and resource technology. He is an avid skier and outdoorsman.

Neva Darling
Aircraft Maintenance Engineer

Neva is a recent addition to the Capital Helicopters crew, but is certainly not new to the aviation industry. Raised in Haines, Alaska, she has spent the majority of her career working in northern regions. As comfortable in a remote camp as she is back at base, Neva's organization and keen eye for detail ensures that Capital machines under her care will receive the highest quality of attention possible.
